Nourish Wellness Cafe is Northampton’s Organic Juice Bar
We do juice especially well at Nourish; we started out as a tiny juice bar, after all. Now, we’re excited to offer all kinds of nourishing specialties, for every appetite – but our fresh, organic juices are a menu highlight. At Nourish, you can get the fresh pressed juice of your dreams: juice that tastes delicious, makes you feel amazing, and is better for you and the planet than the drinks available at any other juice bar. That’s because Nourish Wellness Cafe is 100% organic, and uses local and fair trade ingredients wherever possible.
Depending on what’s in season, you could be sipping a Glow juice made with spinach grown in Amherst (Queen’s Greens) and carrots grown in Hadley (Winter Moon Roots), or a Detoxinator juice sweetened with an apple from Dwight Miller Orchards in Vermont. Add a shot of Gill, MA-grown wheatgrass juice to your Super Green juice to make it super duper green… Or, enjoy a wheatgrass shot on its own (The Gill Greenery). The superfood is packed with nutrients, including iron, calcium, magnesium, chlorophyll, amino acids, and vitamins A, C and E.
Super Juice: Ginger and Turmeric
Of course a fresh juice should taste awesome. At our juice bar, we take it a step further. We are also interested in the healing, detoxifying, and energizing potential of the ingredients we use. That’s why we think it’s important to incorporate ingredients like wheatgrass, ginger and turmeric into our juices and throughout our menu.
Ginger is an ingredient in many of our juices. The pleasantly spicy taste is reason enough to put it in a juice. But did you know that this humble-looking root also carries incredible benefits for your body and brain? Ginger is healing for sluggish digestion, nausea and morning sickness, colds and congestion, and muscle pain and soreness. It may lower cholesterol, blood sugars, and heart disease risk factors. It may even improve brain function and protect against cancer and Alzheimer’s. Drink up!
We also love turmeric for its earthy flavor and beneficial properties. We feature it throughout our menu, including in our Beet Energizer juice. Turmeric is a potent anti-inflammatory that can reduce pain and joint stiffness, improve liver function, aid digestion, and may help reduce the risk of cancer.
